This course provided a foundational understanding of professional branding design, emphasizing practice-led research and a human-centered approach. It introduced communication design theories, project-based learning, and branding as a form of social critique. Through assignments mirroring professional practices—such as competitor audits, strategy development, and brand identity creation—I gained transferable skills for real-world applications.

This module established a strong foundation for specialist practice, brief analysis, and project management. Through a blend of practical and theoretical approaches, I was given the opportunity to define and develop my own design brief. I identified, researched, and engaged with specific audiences and relevant external contexts to produce a body of work that was both creatively and professionally grounded in a given theme.
results.
I was inspired to explore architectural blueprints as a potential direction for my project. Given my strong interest in grids and layouts—especially in relation to publication and editorial design—this idea immediately resonated with me. It made perfect sense to center my project around the concept of grids, not just as a design tool but as a reflection of how we, as humans, are constantly confined within structured spaces.
This ties seamlessly into my original idea of focusing on the bedroom as a personal yet restricted environment. By expanding this notion, I can explore the broader implications of spatial limitations and structured living through design.
